How to Be More Awesome in 30 Days

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” This first step is followed by a second and a third until suddenly, you’ve reached the thousandth mile of your journey. For many, that first step never comes. Then one finds themselves 10, 20 or 30 years down the road never making the changes to accomplish their goals.

My hope is that this list of suggested 30 day challenges will help with that first step, it will help you to consider if a particular goal is ultimately worth your time in the long run and it will get you past the initial hump to create a worthy habit.

Those who study behavioral science say that it takes about 21-66 days to create a new habit. On average, those who are younger create habits in a shorter time period than those who are older. So the 30 day challenge will get you on your way to making your goal into a habit.

Some of our goals, after trying them, we discover that they aren’t as beneficial as we thought. This 30-day challenge gives the opportunity to test and discover if a new habit is of value or not. If it is, keep it up and make it part of your life. If not, dump it and move on to the next challenge.

Try doing one or more of these each day for 30 days to see how it impacts your life. But don’t try to do too many at once.

Thank someone verbally

Leave a thoughtful thank you note for someone

Write in a journal

Do something kind

Send a note/text of encouragement
