Corona Survival Guide – Side Hustle Jobs #2

There are many people out of work right now who are looking for ways to make money to provide for their family, pay their rent or mortgage, etc. I’ve created a list of side jobs that can provide some extra money during these financially tight times.

Work for Amazon
Amazon is hiring 100,000 people right now. Depending on where you live you can apply for jobs www.amazon.com/jobsnow

Amazon Flex
Amazon Flex is only available in particular cities but could be a great opportunity. You’ll need to have a driver’s license, be 21, have a vehicle to deliver packages and have insurance. You can find more at: https://flex.amazon.com/get-started

Sell Products on Amazon
During these crazy times, there is a lack of stability in the job market. Why not create your own business with some of your free time. One business that is booming right now is amazon.com. You can source products and sell them online for a profit through Amazon’s platform called Amazon FBA. You can watch videos on YouTube to learn how to do it or go through a training course to cut down on the learning curve and avoid common mistakes. Arguably the best course on the market today is Amazing Selling Machine.

Uber Eats and other food delivery businesses
People, particularly older people may not want to go out to the grocery store. Food delivery services are a booming business right now.

Web Design
If you have a background in building websites, this may be a good time to get the word out and may provide a great side hustle. With so many people out of work, there will be many who hope to take this opportunity to create an online business or blog.

Teaching English Online
One of the most popular sites for online English tutoring is VIPKid. It allows those with a college degree and who have had some kind of teaching experience (not necessarily classroom) to tutor students in English. Teachers make up to $22 an hour. It’s great because you can do it from home and you can do it the hours that you choose. You can sign up at vipkid.com/teach.

Sell Your Stuff
This is a great time to go through all of your stuff and do a good spring cleaning. You can take all of your unwanted items and post them online. There are a lot of places to post your items but one of the best (because it’s local and free) is Facebook marketplace. If the items are not too valuable you can also leave them on your porch and have people drop their money in the mailbox.

Teach Music Lessons
Music lessons have traditionally been taught in person. In some cases, this may be necessary. But creative and tech-savvy teachers can teach online through apps like Zoom, Skype or Facetime.

Collect Scrap Metal
If you have access to a pickup truck or trailer, collecting scrap metal could be a great side hustle. You could create signs to put on telephone poles around your neighborhood letting people know that you collect appliances. These appliances can be just mental and sorted then takin to your local junkyard to be in exchange for cash. It’s hard work but it could bring in a nice side income.

Create Home Decor
If you’re good with your hands and have an eye for what’s trendy and aesthetic, creating Arts or crafts for the home could be a great investment of your time. There are loads of ideas on Pinterest to spark your creativity and lots of free materials if you know where to look. Pallet wood, rocks, twigs see shells and driftwood can all be found for free and used in projects.

Upwork
This is a great site to either higher someone or to find an online job.  There are a variety of different positions available. Browse around to see if anything fits your skillset.

Tutoring
Post on your library bulletin board or community Facebook bulletin board that you are a tutor looking to take on some new students. This could be done in person or done online. Parents want their students to succeed and a tutor is a great resource to make that happen.

Mobil Mechanics
Those with skills in car repairs can take their tools on the road to repair cars in the driveway instead of in a shop. This provides a huge convenience on the part of the car owner. Due to limited tools, like car lifts, and severe weather, there may be some limitations.

What am I missing? What side hustles are you doing now that are working?
